England Cricket Names Graham Gooch as Full-Time Batting Coach
Graham Gooch was named the England cricket team’s batting coach on a full-time basis.
Gooch has been working as a conultant batting coach since November 2009 and will start his full-time post March 5 as England prepares for its Test series against Sri Lanka, the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a statement.
“Graham is an outstanding coach and is held in the highest regard by all those who work alongside him,” England Managing Director Hugh Morris said. “His record as a player and a coach is formidable and he has shown over the past couple of years that he has a huge amount to offer.”
Gooch played 118 Test matches and 125 one-day matches for England, scoring 13,120 total runs.
